Hi Tom,
On 19 January 2000 at 17:38:48 GMT -0800 (which was 01:38 where I
live) [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote and made these points:
TP> I started programming 18 years ago. All of the editors I used did,
TP> indeed, have what we could call virtual space.
... and when I started 10 years before that, my editing was done with
a hole punch. With punched paper tape there was no virtual space.
Imagine my joy when I discovered the punched card and the virtual
space inherent in that. Perhaps that transition is the source of my
addiction to the facility. Who knows.
TP> If something is trying to be a full-fledged email solution, then
TP> it should be configurable to the user's content.
I think that's a fine summation point. Let's leave this topic there.
TP> what are your thoughts of adding NNTP support to The Bat!?
:-((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((
I argued against HTML reading and many other OT features - to no
avail. I haven't voiced my opinion in the NNTP debate because the
anti-bloat stalwarts are presenting heaps of bandwidth on my behalf.
FWIW, I object and don't want it. I'm happy with Agent as my news
reader - not that I've had a chance to use it in a while. Currently
the weight of traffic on TBUDL and the inflow from another 2 lists I
have to scan for working purposes is actually keeping me from doing my
real job!
