Hi Ralf,

On 30 June 2000 at 18:20:35 GMT +0200 (which was 17:20 where I
live) [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote and made these points on the subject
of "Mail Dispatcher - deleting files":

ML>> My suggestion would be for you to turn off the "invoke
ML>> automatically at each mail check" option for mail dispatcher.

RH> This is a good feature - i use it and i like it. Why should i do
RH> that?

Because you want to manually decide which mails to retrieve in real
time. That is *not* an automation job.

ML>> When people invoke mail dispatcher manually to manage mail on
ML>> the server, using space bar to toggle is really convenient,
ML>> while having to combine with Shift or Ctrl is not.

RH> Yes but I told you the risk and I have lost mails already this way.

... so run the dispatcher by hand when you need to. Use a free-ware
POP mail notifier to tell you when mail is available for download if
you like. As Ming-Li suggests, it would be a shame to spoil the use of
the manual dispatcher by modifying it to better suit semi-automatic
operation when that is not its' designed purpose.
