I see. Not on dial-up connection for too long to remember such
need. Sorry!

Well, mind if I make some other suggestions?

1. Use manual mail-checking instead of periodical checking. The
latter exists mainly for background (unattended) checking. Since
you have to use the mail dispatcher to check before downloading
your mail, manual check seems to make more sense.

Or

2. you may use the "Receive header only if message size is
greater than xx kbyte" option to skip big mail. (This is of
course no solution to mail you want to kill before receiving it,
if TB!'s filter functionality couldn't serve your need.)

Or

3. You may check the "leave mail on server" option so those not
successfully received could be retrieved once again.

Well, it's a risk only when several factors are combined
(periodical checking + auto dispatcher + not leaving mail on
server), and I doubt many people do that. Yes, you have every
right to insist your way of doing things; I respect that. I
merely want to point out that, probably (I'm apparently only
guessing here, since I've done no survey to back up my claim)
more people want the benefit of convenience because there's no
risk to them.

Let's look at the bright side. The rumor has it that v2 would
allow you to remap all (or many of) the function keys. If it's
true, we'll all be happy.
