Susanne, your English is perfect as far as I can say.
I have the same main window arrangement as you have (full height
account tree) and I'd say that the complaint that you have is one the
least aggravating aspects of The Bat's main window.
First of all, the window frames don't stick. No matter how high you
arrange your message preview window to be, you only need to hit
CTRL+SHIFT+E twice (as you must, sooner or later), and your customized
arrangement is gone forever.
The width of the account tree view does not stick either. Nor can you
temporarily *hide* the account tree view: in the Opera browser mailer
(!), this can be accomplished by a simple push of the F4 key (toggle).
And then, in case you'd like to see a different main window
arrangement in The Bat!, you need to hit the following keys:
ALT
V
O
O again [!; a glaring programmers' blunder (but it can be fixed in
60 seconds by Ritlabs)]
ENTER
[and finally, another letter to select the desired arrangement]
Ladies and gentlemen, SIX keys, you need to hit six keys in order to
change your window arrangement. And all of this could be accomplished
by a sensible keyboard shortcut of two keys at the most.
Is this the program that aspires to be the world's Nr. 1 mail client?
Not to mention the worst: after you return to your previous, to your
(would-be) default window arrangement (full height account tree) --
then all the frames positions are gone once more, because the window
frames did not stick and so you need to arrange them all over again.
This, for me, means that I cannot touch The Bat's main window at all.
It is totally immobile and inconfigurable because no matter what you
do, it always returns to the default setting pre-determined by
Ritlabs.
Let us patiently wait and hope.
Yours,
Alex. of Slovakia
