Hi David,

          On Saturday, October 28, 2000 07:56:11 -0700 in
reference to "Placing subjects in introductions"
          you write:

David> First .. Bouviers ROCK!

Yes I suppose you could consider them the canine
"Abbey Road". OK, you've peaked my interest. I
couldn't agree with you more but this subject is
for off-list, private crspndnc. Are you in the UK?

David> [...] to me quoting the subject is less important

David> repeated in the 'Subject'[...]

While this may be true, it seems that a list
meister should be able to suggest accurate
subjects to all list members which helps people
decide whether they want to read/ignore a
particular post. There are some threads I ignore
totally by subject for lack of time. Have I missed
some pertinent information on a mis-identified
          subject, probably.

David> What I find important is a) the inclusion of all
David> 'relevant' text (quite often all text as in some
David> cases trimming can lose important bits) and b)
David> placing new comments at the beginning. [...]

I'm afraid I don't agree with this POV. For ex, I
have trimmed your text w/o losing the meaning of
your comments. Interspersing it with my replies
creates a written "conversation", more natural to
          personal interactions.

David> Unless it is from someone long winded (or is that
David> opinionated :-) like myself.

Well anyone who co-exists successfully with a
Bouvier, let alone two other females, has to be at
least as opinionated as they are.
