This behaviour is optional and can be changed using the "Bind
attachments only when sending" setting on the "Files and directories"
tab of the Account properties.
TB employs the other method by default for good reason - it serves as
a record of what was sent because original files can be changed after
they have gone. What would be the point of keeping a copy of the sent
mail anyway if you are going to leave it attached to a non-static copy
of an attachment?
