Hi Nick,

On 31 December 2000 at 09:53:08 -0800 (which was 17:53 where I
live) Nick Andriash wrote and made these points:

Well ... copy 1 is the original of the file in your filing system.
That is your working copy and can be worked on after sending. Copy 2
is a record of the file as it was when you sent it to the recipient.
This cannot be worked on after sending and is a "proof" archive copy.
"At this time, the file was as appears". As for copy 3 ... what, you
want clairvoyance from TB? <g> TB cannot possibly know that the
message that you sent out contains exactly the same file as the one
that came in shortly after. Same name and size, I know, but then I'm a
lot more gifted than a humble computer in terms of common sense :-).

If you use the "Bind while sending" option, the attached file is *not*
included in the sent message copy, only a reference to the file in the
PC's folder system from which it was sent.

You would only have had one copy of the file on your system (unless
you sent it to yourself, but I'm ignore *that* extra copy). If the
file is work in progress, then it may be worked on after sending. That
means that, in these circumstances, there is no sacrosanct record of
the file "as sent".

Does that make it any clearer?
