As others have pointed out, using only [EMAIL PROTECTED] would work.
The reason is quotation marks in TB's filer strings have special
meaning. It calls for case-sensitive search. So when you put

"John Doe"<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

in the search string, TB would in fact look for

John Doe<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

where the _John Doe_ part is case-sensitive. As you can see, it
won't match.

Please see the help file for more details (including other special
characters). The help file isn't very good, but it does cover this.
