Hello Nick,

It does include every time backup of the registry settings.

KJ>> First, create a batchfile looking like this:

Steps to reproduce:

1. Download HiddenWindow from
http://www.winsite.com/info/pc/win95/desktop/hidewndw.zip/downl.html
This is freeware. Copy the contents of the Zipfile anywhere you like,
no install is needed.

2. Create an empty text file using the editor. (Do this every time for
each new batchfile to be created)

3. Type the following in the editor:

regedit /e e:\programme\tb!accounts\UserRegSetting.reg "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT"
           ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^[2]^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^     ^^^^^^^[1]^^^^^^^^
::This line will export TB's Registry Settings [1] into the specified
::path [2] (If you are running W9x add "@" w/o "" before regedit (no
::blank in between))

"f:\sharedprogs\PowerArchiver\POWERARC.EXE" -a -s -u "f:\Backup\BatBackup"
"e:\programme\tb!accounts\*.*"

::This line will call your favourite Zip-Utility (mine is
::PowerArchiver) with the appropriate switches (maybe you need to change
::this to fit your program):
::   -a - add files to archive
::   -s - save full path names
:: -u - when adding files uses Update method

::Second path is where the archive is stored and the name of it
::Third path is what to be archived (your TB MAIL root folder here)

4. Save as TB!Backup.bat (Check if the file has really extension
*.bat, if not change in Explorer or whatever. If you can't see the
file extension, click View | Folder options (don't know exactly as I'm
using german Windows) | Uncheck "Hide file extensions if known to
system" then you can change the extension to *.bat

5. Crate another empty text file.
6. Add this:

start /wait e:\programme\tb!\thebat.exe /nologo
call f:\sharedprogs\TB!Backup.bat
::Running W9x? Replace "/wait" with "/w"

7. Save as TB!Combined.bat
8. Create another text file.
9. Add this:
F:\SHAREDPROGS\HIDEWINDOW\HIDEWNDW.EXE /r E:\TB!Combined.bat
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^[1]^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^    ^^^^^[2]^^^^^^^^

[1] will call up the program HideWindow to hide the Window created by
[2] TB!Combined.bat which will first start TB! wait in the background
till TB! is closed and then the backup is performed via running
TB!Backup.bat.

10. Save as TB!Replace.bat

11. Create a shortcut on your desktop pointing to TB!Replace.bat
    Add the TB! icon if you like.
    Use this shortcut to start TB!

NA> What advantages are there to your type of backup, compared to Tools/Backup?

It's proven to be working for ages, no problems in lost AB entries,
missing groups, filters or whatever.

*It's working regardless of the running TB! version* No Beta trouble.

I think a more experienced user with some knowledge of writing
batchfiles can strip this three files into one which will be much more
convenient. Someone volunteering?

Nick, I hope it's not too complicated to read through (myself reading
it, I'm not very proud of the explanation)
If you want I will send you the files OFF-LIST so you only have to
change the paths.
