Would you want every subscribe/unsubscribe announced on the list?

No goals have changed. But it is possible to use this excellent email
client without actually knowing the ionternal workings of perl, did
you know that? ;-)

The depth will still be there. The only change is that a heavy-traffic
list will be split into two lists, with different focuses, so that any
user has the choice to receive only the traffic he considers
interesting - right now, he has to download all.

And they will continue to be repeated on this list.

So you will be happy that you can now decide to download only half of
the traffic, right?

Right. But many people who are not interested in RegEx capabilities
would still like to use TB. As advanced users, we have no right to hog
this list with techie questions, that would be elite thinking. what is
wrong with giving newbies space to breath? Anybody who wishes to, is
invited to join the techie list and recieve the full load of traffic.
