That's not a problem in itself. TB asks the server to send new
messages only. No messages are downloaded more than once *except*:

1) When a server doesn't support UIDL properly
2) When you change the setting in TB from "Leave" to "Delete".

There's no such thing really. POP3 servers don't record "read/unread"
information, just message IDs. IMAP servers record read/unread stats
but for POP3 it's up to TB to know which are read / unread and only
retrieve new messages from the server. I don't really understand what
your problem is with that method.

It's not really feasible technically AFAICS. That's what I was trying
to say. The way TB does it is all there is AFAIK.
