You can get TB! to do the above by doing the following.
Setup the account transfer properties to selectively download messages
to your defined size limit. Also set TB! to leave messages on the
server and set your time limit.
You need to now setup two incoming filters.
1) This filter should *always* be at the top of your incoming filter
list and is for the TB! generated notification messages with regards
to large messages being on the server.
Source folder: Inbox Destination Folder: Inbox
Strings: "The Bat" Location: Sender Presence: Yes
Options: 'Continue processing with other filters' *must* be disabled.
2) The next filter should appear immediately after the first filter
and this will instruct TB! to delete all filtered messages from the
server. Since the large message notifications aren't processed by this
filter, the large messages will not be deleted from the server.
Source: Inbox Destination: Inbox
Strings: "e" Location: Anywhere Presence: Yes
<this will in effect, match all messages>
Action: Delete message from server
<TB! will delete the message from the server when doing the next mail
check>
Options: 'Continue processing with other filters' *must* be enabled.
<this option will allow the messages to be processed by your other
filter rules>
This works just great for me. All messages are deleted from the server
except for the large ones and I have two days to inspect and download
them if I like, using the dispatcher.
