Yes - that's because TB has knowledge of the UIDLs, the server just
dishes them out.

Yes, but the way TB is set up, it has the dispatcher to perform such
functions. That's the TB way. I wouldn't like to see the guys at RIT
make such a fundamental change to the download engine while working
towards V2.

OTOH, it is a long standing omission that the selective download is
not more capable. As long as they have something more flexible in
place for v2, I'm happy.
