Depends on your way of doing it *g*

I don't know if this is easier but I'm used to use '<Ctrl>+right-arrow' for
this. This way threads got automatically expanded because this keyboard
shortcut jumps to next unread message, wether it is depp in a thread of at
top.

I use the scroll wheel too if I'm to lazy to use the keyboard, works great. I
don't even have to shift the focus from message list to message body for this
(btw: I'm using MS Intelli Explorer)
To use the keyboard for scrolling through messages I use '<Alt>+down-arrow'.
The negative aspect is you need two hand for this, the positive is you don't
have to change the focus to message body or use the mouse.

that's not implemented I I for myself don't think it is necessary. There's a
nice column 'Message Flags' you can activate (unless it is already done) in
message list. This column shows a yellow letter when the message itself is
unread and a white envelope if the message is read. So if a message has an
envelope plus is is bold there're unread messages in thread.

At first there was nothing. Then God said 'Let there be light!' Then there was
still nothing. But you could see it.
