Same problem that time. You wrote that you had the problem for two
days. At the end of the thread the problem was attributed to
ZoneAlarm. I suppose that Removing and reinstalling ZoneAlarm didn't
work?

Does the problem persist when TB thinks your internet connection is
via a network?
 Options => Network & Administration => Check 'Local Area Network or
 manual connection'
Now connect via your browser and let TB send and receive mail.

How big is your messagebase? When did you compress your folders for
the last time? Should not influence this, but...
