I can only answer this for me - I probably qualify as a power-user (several thousand emails a week) but most of my email time is while I'm nursing my baby son - so I'm often working with my one free hand. I can do stuff like Alt-F4 with one hand, but Alt-anything-further-away-than-F6 and I need two hands.
