Well it is not entirely just Outlook, but it has been spawned a lot by outlooks default behavior. Netscape does it I believe, and I think Pegasus and Eudora can have it customized. > Please explain about the signature problems you mention. I am not > certain I understand. If you look at a majority of the emails posted on the list, they have a signature delimiter in the format of "-- " (mine has one too). TB!s behavior to stop over-quoting, and inclusion of pointless signatures is to strip everything that appears *after* that delimiter. Now with the method that KoMpLoT used, the whole original message/reply would be snipped if I were to try replying (from TB!). This can make it awfully difficult to follow long threads in conversations if there is no context for a reply. This is another reason that top quoting is often avoided. In some cases (I accept) that bottom quoting is prefered, and I do use it myself to particular groups of people, but any lists I am on, or news groups, I use quoting where it is necessary. Notice how I had snipped out the irrelevant part to my reply (just as you did in yours), and quoted what was needed. I also put the details about the signature cropping *after* your question. This makes it easier (generally) to establish which question I am referring too when I answer. -- Jonathan Angliss ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) PGP Keys : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=SendKeys ________________________________________________________ Current Ver: 1.61 FAQ : http://faq.thebat.dutaint.com Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Bug Reports: https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/
