Do that. I just said that viruses do more than just send themselves
out. I said they delete files, and that's what make them dangerous to
the average user.
Also note the use of the grammatical "impossible condition" denoted by
the usage of the word "were" instead of "was" in the if-phrase. This
communicates that I do not believe that this is all that viruses do,
so the condition cannot be matched, and the the main phrase ("I
*would* uninstall") will only become reality if the impossible
condition is met. Which will never be.
I don't care too much about the bandwidth used by viruses sending
themselves out, but I care about them destroying my system (and
probably any recipient's system). Therefore, the bandwidth problem is
secondary, as the first (and main) problem caused by viruses also
ensures that I do my best not to catch one, and especially not to
infect other people. That, not the bandwidth, is my reason to ensure
my AV-software is always updated.
Viruses *delete and alter files*. That is their main threat. Didn't
you know that?
