Sheesh!  All I did was recommend AVG on the basis that it has given me
no grief.

I think there is also considerable "risk" in placing any weight behind
"payware" being of better quality because you have to pay for it.

Let me see.....the three pieces of software that have most often caused
me stife are:

1. MS Windows (of course)
2. The Bat! (still my grouping does not work.)
3. PC-Cillin - which takes over my father's PC and tries so hard to be
"user friendly" that it is almost unusable for anyone who knows even a
little about what they are trying to achieve.

I realise you said the first two factors do not include cost, but
subsequent statements have been negatory on the "free" bit.
