Hello,
I'm new to the list and
this is my first post.
I've been a technical
writer since 1991 when I drifted into it after being a technical trainer
for about 8 years. Before that I was a band teacher and gave music lessons in a
studio.
I'm currently working as a
contractor at a company that makes remote video surveillance hardware and
software. I write online help for the software, paper installation guides for
the hardware, and I manage an internal web site for product support. I also help
out with the requirements specifications web site and perform testing duties
such as writing and performing test cases. I've been here for about 6 years.
I've also worked in call
center management, telephone network management, and a variety of other
areas.
I majored in music and play
2nd oboe in a local community orchestra. I also play english horn, piano and
guitar and dabble in a few other instruments. I also like to play paper and pencil
roleplaying games.
I have a grown son and two
grandchildren and am still married to the man I married at age 18. We have a
miniature poodle, four cats of various types, a red-belly parrot, and two
aquariums of angel fish. In the summer I like to feed and watch
hummingbirds.
