Hi, I'm Bill Swallow. I'm currently a Documentation Manager at MapInfo Corporation. I've been here for a little over 4 years. I've been in the TechComm field for about 10 years, and have worked for a wide variety of companies on contract and in full-time employee roles.
I graduated from RPI with a BS in Communication in 1995 after initially going to school there for Architecture (the no-personal-life studio hours combined with civil engineering got the best of me and I turned tail and ran). Since graduating I have worked as a translation typesetter, online Help author, technical writer, technical illustrator, web designer, manager, and much more. I have always worked in a sink or swim environment, which has helped me grow and mature my skills quickly and thoroughly. Over the years I have made many solid professional contacts, quite a few of whom have become good friends of mine over time. I moderate several mailing lists, and am the list owner for both HATT and WWP-Users. For fun I like to listen to a wide variety of music, play guitar, brew my own beer, and kick back a few quality pints with good friends.
