That's my feeling, too. I've seen perfectly good email lists go to pot
because members decided to run a bulletin board in parallel. Pretty
soon discussion was all over the place and the list fell apart---not
the intent of the overly-enthusiastic ones, but the result
nonetheless. I think a wiki would do the same thing.
