On a more serious note, I would just have the user manual provide instructions for installing the cable and not mention the possibility that it might or might not be there. It's more important for the information to be in the pre-sale product advertising and on the outside of the box. A totally accurate manual that cites the cable as "not included" that I don't see until after I've come home without one will not make me any less annoyed a customer than one that says maybe/maybe not.
