There are Yahoo! and Google groups of company alumni, but they can be a
hit or miss proposition.  At least, with LinkedIn, you can keep in touch
with people you used to work with (I've been in this racket since about
1982). As long as they keep their LinkedIn contact info current, you know
you have a way to reach them should you be moved to do so.
