I heard from Bruce Foster, and it sounds like the Archive plugin will work
for what I'm doing. He gave me permission to post what he wrote to me:

"With OLE objects, FrameMaker doesn't store a pathname to the source file,
which means that Archive has no way to find the source file for the graphic
and make a copy of that file in the archive folder. FrameMaker does
include a WMF of the graphic in the document file, so if you open the
archived document, you'll still see the graphic. Also, OLE keeps the link
to the source file intact. So, if you open the archived document and
double-click the graphic to edit it, that will still work, as long as the
source file is available.

"What you don't get is a complete archive with all of the graphic source
files. Let's say you have a document on your hard drive that has a Visio
graphic in it that you placed using File > Import > Object. Assume that
the source file for the Visiio graphic is also on your hard drive. If you
archive the document, creating another folder on your hard drive,
everything is fine. Now, take the archived folder and put a copy on your
laptop, which doesn't have the Visio source file. On your laptop, you'll be
able to open the document and see the graphic, but you won't be able to
edit it, because you don't have a copy of the source file."

I'll install the trial version and make sure it works, and if it does, I
will definitely purchase it. :)
