My last three hires (including my current position) were the
result of profiles I had posted to boards (in chronological
order, Dice.com in 2000, Monster.com in 2003, STC in
2006).  In all cases, the companies contacted me, I did not
apply to postings from them (in the last two, the jobs were
never posted anywhere before they hired me).  In all cases
the companies sent blind emails to my confidential profiles,
which do not include my name, contact info or the name of
my current employer, and their messages were then
forwarded to me by the job boards' remailers.  A company
needs to be *really* interested to get in touch with me. :)
