I actually have a more powerful machine than most of the developers
do---all the Adobe apps I run require a lot more muscle than their
coding tools.

Exactly how I would use the dual monitors. I actually used to set up
my aging laptop to run the apps I'm documenting, but that died last
year so now I'm back to Alt-Tabbing back and forth.

Several managers have agreed that it would be logical for the tech
writers to have dual monitors. But there's the budget thingie...
