I don't belong to a lot of email lists, for the reasons mentioned by
others.  

*Techwr-l (but not as useful as it once was)
*Techcomm pros (Kind of like what Techwr-l once was)
*Techcomm Off-topic (Good for a laugh now and then)
*Copyeditors (Bunt only on digest, and only respond when it is in my
areas of expertise -- MSWord, mathematics, gene expression)
*Digital Eves (A group in Seattle for women in computing careers; lots
of good help, advise, and job postings)
*Toastmasters (Not too many emails, but more than I would like)

Rule #1: You don't have to read every posting.  You don't have to spend
your life reading.  If a message comes through that I am not interested
in (Frame, since I don't use it at my current job), it's OK to delete
without reading it.
