If it's too little, too late, what is motivating you? I assumed that your motivation lies in warning unsuspecting young tech writers from being snared by a flawed organization... but then you've clearly stated that STC was flawed, owned up to those flaws, and has actively addressed (or is addressing) those flaws. To me, that's EXACTLY the type of organization that I want to support. Organizations that lack that level of self-awareness seem to inevitably devolve into giant echo chambers for mutual admiration societies or--far worse--groups of doomsday conspiracy theorists who love to gaze at their navels while wailing about how no one respects them because they can't pay for the privilege of printing a lofty acronym behind their names. If you believe STC has grown and changed from what original caused you to cancel your membership, yet the organization still holds no value for you, what is motivating you to continue to denounce it? If you feel so strongly that the cause of the technical writer is not being championed effectively by STC, what alternative organization do you support?
