Ah, yes, there's nothing like "some people" -- a classic rhetorical jab. The only *real* person who was criticized in this thread was Paula Stern, who's been a valuable, public contributor to TW e-mail lists for years. Maybe you disagree with her about STC, but how can you call her a scowler?
