Welcome Al! Lisa and others: Expect a bit of a membership spike in the next month - a few STC Lone Writer SIG members have decided not to renew their STC membership and are looking for another place to hang out. At least two of us have mentioned the TCP group as a potential water cooler for them. Loners probably need such a community more than anyone as they don't have fellow writers to ask for help when they get stuck, or to bounce ideas off.

My name is Alan Byer, and I am a technical writer in Columbia, Maryland. Been doing this for ~30 years now, mostly in the Baltimore/Washington metro area. Started out in Lewisburg, West Virginia. On the job, I especially enjoy tracking down information and playing sleuth; also write magazine articles as an off-hours avocation. Look forward to hearing from contributors to this list, and wish you all a Happy New Year!
