Hey, did I see my name mentioned here somewhere? :-) Welcome to all the new TCP list members! It's nice to see some new names here. I'm looking forward to your input in the future.
I'm coming up on 20 years [gasp!] since I got my degree in Scientific and Technical Communication. I've been working as a writer, editor, and/or desktop publisher/typesetter for 19 of those. My kids are at an age where they're starting to do projects and reports for school, and they're thrilled with my skill set. That matters more to me than impressing anyone else. :-) As Carla mentioned, I'm not just a technical writer, I'm an unstructured FrameMaker nut/guru/expert. One of these days, I'd like to make the move to structured, but I'm in a content (con-TENT, not CON-tent!) mode at the moment that takes away the drive to make any major changes. I'm not looking forward to the learning curve and usual headaches that come from making the switch from one way of writing to another. I finally have most of the bugs worked out of my current process, so I'm enjoying it while I can. The next time something annoying comes along, maybe that will be what nudges me to make the change. That's what got me to where I am today. Happy Friday! Donna - CONFIDENTIAL- This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential, and may also be legally privileged.
