Just because a node is transient doesn't mean that another node doesn't no
how to access it. For example, the freenet clients act just like transcient
node. they contact the local node (also transcient) and the DataSource isn't
set by that node.

Also, if a node wasn't transcient and now it is, it will be ref'd by other
nodes probably and still accessed for a while.
