Hi Gordon,

JAWS does announce the different bullet types that Word uses. Unfortunately, I cannot find a shortcut key to easily get to the bullets button. There is none announced by JAWS anyway. The option is in the Home ribbon. You can choose from filled round, hollow round, cross, diamond, filled square, and none (I might be missing one).

Whe reading the bullets in a document, JAWS announces most of the bullets correctly except for the hollow round bullet. That is read as an o.

Hi Mary

I think you're notified instantly under Window-Eyes when something
becomes a heading. But I will test that and let you know. This is,
however, good news. I now have sufficient information to make the
document on which I am working more presentable. Incidentally, do
the "Bullet" characters, ( ? ) get verbalised under either Jaws or
Window-Eyes, and for that matter do they appear as bullet characters
under Windows and, therefore, in your Windows documents at all? If
not, how does one go about creating bulleted lists under Microsoft
Word 2010?

Gordon
