This is why I always play a unit before the customer leaves, if I have time. If I don't, I do play it before I start work on it. Be sure to burn the unit for a few hours. The guy called this morning and wanted to know if I could fix it there for sure. I told him no guarantees and it might have to come back to the shop. So he asked if I came all the way out there and it still had to come in, would I still charge him a service call. duhhhhhhh. After I said yes, he said he would be in with it about noon. I opened it up and pulled the mb, etc, loose and checked the diode and resistor and they were ok. Hooked it all back up so "EYE" could see what it was doing. The SOB plays fine! The screen voltage was cranked up too high and causing a little retrace, but can see nothing wrong besides that. I'm going to redo those cheap looking pins that Wayne mentioned and let it play all night.
