No, it's not, because you have a space in the path. You are telling
configure to use '/user' as the prefix, rather than
'/user/temp/tesseract'. You also have a space between '--' and
'prefix'. However:

...if you want to install in "/usr/bin/tesseract-2.04/" - again, no
space in the path - use that with the --prefix option

./configure  --prefix=/usr/bin/tesseract-2.04/
