They should, so long as you use the full path to run them -- i.e., use '/usr/bin/tesseract-3.0/tesseract' instead of just 'tesseract'. There may be a problem with libraries - I'm not trying to scare you, just to make you aware of the possibility - if so, it's easy enough to fix with a script.
