Hello Helge,

you can write your own definitions of fingering.

For example

\def\Fil#1#2{\roffset{0.2}{\raise% 
-4\Internote\hbox{\zcharnote{#1}{\smalltype{#2}}}}}%

\def\Fiu#1#2{\roffset{0.2}{\raise% 
1.6\Internote\hbox{\zcharnote{#1}{\smalltype{#2}}}}}%

These definitions can be found in ejdefs.tex. It's part of the distribution of 
the prelude BWV 1007 by Eva Jaksch to be found in the icking-music-archieve.  
These are definitions for guitar.

In a PMX-file you can use them in the following way:

\Fiu{-2}{1}\ c44 \Fil{5}{5}\ c+

The first number is the pitch, the second the indication of finger. 0 (zero) is 
the place on the first line of a staff. 1 is the place between the fist two 
lines and so on:

           9
---------8-------------------------
        7
-------6---------------------------   
      5
-----4----------------------------- 
    3
---2-------------------------------
  1
-0---------------------------------
  -1
    -(-2)-
         -3

treble-clef: c'=-2 d'=-1 etc.
bass-clef: c=3, d=4 etc.
