@Dirk Laurie: Thanks for the additional information! I actually didn't know so 
far that in netsoos.pmx it's done like this, as producing it did work the first 
time for me yesterday evening. I ended up with the native PMX lyrics system. 
But it's very good to know that the more complicated inline TeX variant was 
only used, because PMX didn't support lyrics back then. I would have made up 
another reason...

@Bob Tennent and Christian Mondrup thanks for the increadibly fast changes on 
the website! In my view they improve it.

Note that netsoos.pmx uses the M-Tx lyrics system: everything is done by
inline TeX using macros from mtx.tex. There is nowadays a native PMX lyrics
system that does not require you to load mtx.tex
