Hindu philosophy, at the highest levels, does not deal with matter. Light, quanta, other particles, why, the very space within which these exist - are all considered to be matter (jada). Asking a question like God and speed of light, is like asking what is the taste of blue color. Or, conversely, the color of the malli poo vasanai (only fragrance - not the actual flower). Both are meaningless questions. >From my understanding of the scriptures (unfortunately, I am not knowledgeable enough to quote from them), the Vedas are like a sixth form of knowledge acquiring mechanism (as opposed to the first five senses, which are essentially knowledge acquiring mechanisms). You need this sixth form, because the knowledge that youa re acquiring, is not material (made of matter). Once acquired, you will know that Brahman, is one and the only one and there is no other one and is present in everyone. Now - I know this from an intellectual perspective. I also know that it is going to take many lifetimes to have this veil of ignorance lifted and be rid of 'punarapi jananam, punarapi maranam'. Thus, to ask whether God can go faster than light is to mistake the very concept of God as being made of matter. After all, you can only compare like with like.
