Respected sir, I found you have mentioned Samayalkkaran as a category of persons in the list. I know among Nampoothiries there is a subgroup called Adukkala nampoothiries, who do not learn much Veda like Bhattathiri or Tirumulpad and categorized for cooking. Among Brahmins in Kerala the samooham joins together, some persons took lead. They were /are honoured. But not called as cooks.
In royal families Brahmins were/are invited for leading and supervise cooking. Mostly done by royal family members and assisted by ambalavasis. In Tamilnadu however some people call themselves as cooks in all castes . Do you mean them?
