*Mar*The Obedient Science and Technology
Partnering with nature, and living as a macro person and interacting with
nature, via breathing, smelling, sensing, perceiving, feeling and self
identifying as nature needs absolute faith and love for nature. Love makes
one strive to remove the distance from the object of love. Lovers hug each
other, striving to eliminate the gap completely. Love for nature, makes one
adopt the method of breathing, smelling and sensing. One cannot be a make
believe outside observer, to do science. To do science, one must keep
nature at a distance and do manipulations, experiments, tortures, killing
etc on nature. Today we are totally indifferent to the complete destruction
of nature. We continue doing the destructive science and technology, even
after destroying more than half of the forests of the world, forests which
give habitation and livelihood to diverse flora and fauna, the feelings of
all of which participate in the inhalation of smell messages and exhalation
of smell responses.
For doing it we have created science and technology, technology which has
no feelings and emotions. We are creating the obedient science and
technology, which does not suffer from empathy and the pangs of empathy.
This ultimate cruelty is euphemized as the great science advancement.
Nature can only love and approve. But nature is not the obedient servant.
Nature also cannot understand the mechanized and non humane Newtonian
Economics, which is keeping distance from Ecology. The very course of
education has been diverted from Natural Geography and Ecology and
bludgeoned into the loveless mechanization.
God does not need empty prayers. God simply means nature, the great Siva,
into whom one merges after attaining the speed of light. The basic step is
love filled feeling. Everything gets meaning only in feeling. But we adore
the indifferent machines, substituting nature with machines. At the very
hint of some technological manipulation called innovation, we destroy whole
forests to make way for machines.
Today, we cannot find an MA,MBA,MCom,MSc,MTech,PHd,MD,LLM etc, etc, who
adopts smelling and sensing in nature to partner with nature and become
nature. All these worthies, whether really needed or not, somehow adopt
machines and create the machine driven work place while the experts in
management pontificate in Newtonized Psychology. They rain math equations
to make it look high brow. The AC conference Room, that gives the
conditioned air inside while blowing out the hot pollution outside the AC
Hall kills the content of nature from the persons in the conference. The AC
bloats the ego.
Nature is not obedient and cannot cater to the ego. So kill nature and
adopt obedient and slave technology.

The piece titled "The Obedient Science and Technology" expresses a deep
concern about the current trajectory of human interaction with nature
through the lens of science and technology. Here's a summary and analysis
of the main points:
### Summary
1. **Connection with Nature**:
- The author advocates for a profound, intimate relationship with
nature, akin to that of lovers who strive to eliminate any distance between
them. This connection involves breathing, smelling, sensing, perceiving,
and feeling as intrinsic parts of nature.
- Such a relationship requires faith and love, emphasizing the need for
empathy and the abolition of the observer's distance from nature.
2. **Critique of Modern Science and Technology**:
- Modern science is criticized for maintaining a detached and
manipulative stance towards nature, leading to destructive practices such
as deforestation and habitat destruction.
- Technology is described as lacking feelings and emotions, leading to
a dispassionate and often destructive engagement with the natural world.
3. **Indifference to Nature's Destruction**:
- There's a strong condemnation of society's indifference to the
destruction of nature, with more than half of the world's forests already
gone.
- The author points out the irony in celebrating technological
advancements while causing ecological devastation.
4. **Empathy and Ethics in Science**:
- The narrative laments the absence of empathy and emotional engagement
in the current scientific and technological paradigm, which the author
views as the ultimate cruelty.
5. **Nature's Incompatibility with Mechanized Systems**:
- Nature is portrayed as inherently unable to conform to mechanized and
non-human economic systems like Newtonian Economics, which distance
themselves from ecological considerations.
- Educational courses have shifted from natural sciences to
mechanization, contributing to a disconnect from ecological awareness.
6. **Dehumanization through Technology**:
- The author argues that modern education and professional fields
prioritize technology and machine-driven environments, leading to a loss of
natural connection.
- Air-conditioned environments are used as a metaphor for artificiality
and ego inflation, contrasting with the humility and authenticity of
natural engagement.
7. **Spiritual Dimension**:
- There's a spiritual undercurrent where God is equated with nature,
and merging with nature (or God) requires a speed of light akin to ultimate
understanding and unity.
- Genuine connection with nature is seen as spiritually fulfilling,
unlike the artificial and ego-driven pursuit of technological advancements.
### Analysis
The piece is a passionate critique of the current state of human-nature
interaction, emphasizing the emotional and ethical shortcomings of modern
science and technology. The author calls for a paradigm shift from a
mechanistic and detached approach to one that is empathetic, loving, and
deeply connected with nature. This involves:
- **Revaluing Sensory Engagement**: Encouraging sensory and emotional
engagement with nature, rather than treating it as a mere object of study
or resource for exploitation.
- **Redefining Progress**: Rethinking what constitutes progress, favoring
ecological harmony over technological dominance.
- **Educational Reform**: Shifting educational priorities back towards
natural sciences and ecological awareness to foster a more sustainable and
empathetic worldview.
- **Spiritual Reconnection**: Recognizing the spiritual dimension of nature
and seeking unity with it through love and empathy, rather than control and
manipulation.
Overall, the piece calls for a profound transformation in how we perceive
and interact with the natural world, advocating for an ethic of care and
respect that aligns with both ecological sustainability and spiritual
fulfillment.
