Thanks for the tip.  I just switched mine from DHCP to the Google Public DNS, 
and it is a remarkable difference on my Comcast connection.  Super fast pages 
now.  :-)

Comcast charges extra for a static IP (from what I read it's only available to 
business clients). As for the DNS, I have no idea. I'm still amazed at what a 
huge difference it's made.
