On my 3 1/2 year old T41: I already needed to fix the cracked hinge. Then, before I got to, the screen started getting pink. Today, the fan has started to rattle slightly.
How common is it that a rattling fan turns into a failed fan? What temperature overage should I watch out for? It looks like replacing the fan is not trivial (requires a properly shaped tool, and thermal grease). My T23 died completely (system board failure) one week after the 3-year warranty ran out, so I feel lucky! Thanks for any ideas...
