Hi Anthony,

I think it would be hard to go far wrong with either of the series you
mention, or the current T400 series. They will all meet the requirements
you stated. (At least I'm not aware of issues that would prevent T4x
running Win 7...?)

It might be a good idea to favor models that use SATA hard drives.
Almost all SSDs and most new hard drives are SATA rather than PATA. So
you'd keep your upgrade/repair options open. That would eliminate
T40-T42. T43 has a reputation for running hot, so I might avoid that one
too. So requiring SATA hard drive would eliminate T4x series.

T60 and T61 have SATA limited to 1.5 Gbps. That's not a problem unless
you're using an SSD and are obsessed by peak transfer rates.

Screens:
T60 is available in 4:3 screen format, if you care. So is 14" T61. 15"
T61 and current T400 are 16:10 only.
T60p was last T series to use IPS screen for wide viewing angles.
New T400 High Nit screen has very good viewing angles compared to most.

T60 through T400 use the same docks. (But T400s uses different docks.
And 1.8" hard drive, so that's probably not for you.)

That's about all that comes to mind.
