This looks like explorer not loading. Have the same problem 2 times out
of three, waiting for a faster disk to troubleshoot the problem. Have
you tried to wait (3 minutes for me).

Didn't work.  None of lost known or the safe mode options do anything 
other than go to a black screen with safe mode around the edges and some

XP designator at the top
