Well, if you're files are corrupted, it's likely the backup routine will fail 
again.

Are you that hesitant to let chkdsk run & give you a report?

  Only problem is that I think the backup was interrupted by this error
  coming again. I'm going to try a much more restricted backup and then
  run the chkdsk.

  If anyone here has more or better info, I'll be happy to try something
  else.
