Most likely, a completely hard shutdown (killing all the power) is the only 
thing which will turn it off.


If the machine were mine, I'd say a quick prayer and do it. But it's not - so 
you have to make that call.


I've been in similar situations, and have always gotten out of them 
scratch-free apart from once. Let's hope you get lucky with this one.
