Hi,

I have been trying to fix that "problem" for quite a while.
There is a feature in my thinkpad, which as it seems right now is more than
a bug for me than a feature.
(Note: this could be a windows/operating system thing and not a thinkpad. I
am actually pretty sure it is not strictly related to the thinkpad, but I
couldn't figure a way to fix it.)

I am using an X61T. It has Windows vista.

Whenever I connect a monitor to my laptop, I get two separate desktops -
one for the laptop screen and one for the monitor. However, what I want is
both monitors to display the same single desktop.

I tried going to display settings in Windows, and it does not give me this
option. It shows two monitors, lets me identify which monitor is each (by
printing 1 and 2 in the middle of the monitor when I click on the button)
and choose which one is the "main" monitor (the one where the main portion
of the desktop appears). Is this really a graphics card problem? It sounds
to me like it should be possible to merge the laptop screen with the
monitor, but I am not sure how.

Thanks!

Jerr
