I have both x60 and x61s -- upgraded to Win7 Ultimate, SSD, max RAM -- and find them to be snappier and have longer battery life than out-of-the-box WinXP and 5k/7k drives.

Haven't gone to 64-bit due to some program incompatibility.

Hi all,

I recently purchased an X220 to replace my X61s, but there seems to be
an ongoing problem with the IPS displays and Lenovo doesn't quite seem
to know what to do about it (my X220 has been sitting at ezserv for
over 3 weeks).

So, now I'm thinking about just upgrading the RAM (currently 2GB)
and/or drive (currently 100GB/7200rpm) and possibly the OS in my X61s.

Right now it's running 32bit Vista (yes, I know, everybody hates
Vista) -- but I don't have an extra copy of XP or Win7. I was planning
on switching to 64bit Win7 with the X220, but now it's in limbo.

Perhaps my first question should be: is 64bit Win7 a good match for an X61s?

Thanks! -Scott
